What it is

Songs Save Lives is a special little place where a certain recent college grad holds the false impression that people want to hear the stories behind his favorite songs.   The title came from a Firewater song (“The Song That Saved My Life”) a much missed music magazine (Careless Talk Costs Lives) and a heartfelt (if totally sappy) belief. 

If you’d like to send me any music, tell me about a new band, or allert me to any shows happening in the Detroit metro area, feel free to e-mail me (my name’s gabe kalmuss-katz, just so you know who to address the whole thing to), but keep in mind, this site’s just as much about airing out my early 90s music collection as it is about allerting people to new music.

Legal ass covering-  All MP3s are presented for sample purposes only.   If you are (or represent) an artist featured on the site and would like your music taken down, please contact me at Kalmuga@earlham.edu and it will be removed as soon as is humanly possible.  Seriously though, these guys aren’t spending their mornings swimming in vaults of gold coins a-la Scrooge McDuck, so please go buy the albums if you like what you here.
